UK Trademark Registration Services
Preparation and Filing Trademarks in the United Kingdom
For a flat fee of £200.00 (plus filing fees), a practising solicitor or trademark agent will draft and file your trademark application with the UK Trade Mark Registry (part of the UK Patent Office), within two weeks of receipt of your payment and receipt of all documents necessary to prepare the application. We will provide you with updates during the application process and once registered will advise you on the proper use of your registered trademark. The fee includes routine consultations and correspondence with the UK Patent Office and responding to non-substantive office actions. If there is a complication with your application, a practitioner will address the complication at a reduced hourly rate and only after obtaining your prior approval. For certain oppositions or office actions, arrangements may be made with independent solicitors or agents to assist in such matters. The £200.00 fee does not include the UK Patent Office Registry filing fee of £200.00 per International Class. There is a legal cost of £50 and filing fee of £50 for each additional class extending
beyond the first class.

There are no nationality restrictions concerning who may apply for or own a UK registration. The Trade Marks Registry will consider whether an application meets formal filing requirements and, if so, will then carry out a substantive examination to assess whether the application meets the criteria for registration. In particular, the Registry will consider whether there are any “absolute grounds” or “relative grounds” for refusal. See
FAQ section for more details.
A UK registration lasts initially for ten years from the filing date. Provided that renewal fees are paid every ten years, the duration of the registration may be extended indefinitely. There are no additional registration fees.
